The session will include an exhibit featuring interventions of renewal, in a specifically designed all-bamboo display area powered with renewable energy sources. The pavilion’s structure exemplifies the potential of low-cost building materials like bamboo, with excellent physical-mechanical properties and a very high degree of environmental sustainability. The realization of the pavilion will be presented in a dedicated workshop, with the participation of young architects and architectural students from the Polytechnic.of Turin.

Executed by architects G. Casu and G. DeNunzio
The bamboo and steel pavilion has been designed by Utopierealizzabili in collaboration with the CRD-PVS, Polytechnic of Turin.
The pavilion is a photovoltaic eco-glasshouse, with an inner shading effect provided by photovoltaic panels and a bamboo brise-soleil on the sun exposed side. The pavilion’s microclimate is also controlled by a self powered zero balance water system.
This very low environmental impact building is being realized with the supportof the Environmental Department of the Liguria Region.
